Meet the Staff
The staff at The Dog and I is very knowledgeable and passionate about dogs and this will show in the level of service that you and your dog will receive.
Sarah
Diane
Diane is my mother and an excellent one at that. I couldn't think of a better person to share this dream with than her. She and I run the facility and she is so good at what she does - I have learned so much. She has an excellent rapport with all of the clients - human and dog. Right now, at home, she has 4 retired Greyhounds and a Great Dane that she rescued. She also adopted a black lab named Laven. Diane loves all of our clients and loves having fun with them - she tells them stories, sings songs and usually, at least 3 times a week, does a dance!! That's not only entertaining for the dogs but also for the staff!! She calls herself "MAMA" and before she leaves every evening, she tells the dogs that "MAMA loves them!!"
Sarah has been working with dogs for almost 12 years. She has experience in everything including managing boarding/daycare facilities, caring for boarding dogs, training and reading body language and she is also an experienced groomer. She has worked at vet hospitals helping out and doing vet tech duties. She has also worked at the Dumb Friends League helping the homeless animals. Sarah has trained with a lot of Colorado dog trainers and has trained with “The Dog Whisperer” Ceasar Milan for 2 weeks in California. Sarah has 3 dogs – Sadie (chow 10yrs old), Snickers (pit 8yrs old) and Bear (husky 8yrs old).
Caitlyn
Jenette
Caitlyn is excellent at handling the dogs. She understands all of their personalities and knows who plays best with who! She knows the whole facility and is very responsible. She has 4 dogs of her own and is sitting here with her lab, Sawdust. She often brings her dachsund to play at the shop - Frankfurter!!
Jenette has been working with animals for the past five years. She has worked in various settings including a vet’s office and other boarding facilities. She has also volunteered at humane societies in her spare time. Having spent so much time around them, she is very good at reading dogs and handling them in group settings. She has one dog, a three-legged newfi/chow mix named Baron. She also has two cats, Countess and Tristan. She is a true animal lover and couldn’t imagine life without them! She will be getting married on May 1, 2008.
Stacey
Geri
Stacey is my best friend and she helps out at the shop whenever she can. She is such a loving person and we are lucky to have her. She specializes in geriatric dog care; her true love is for older dogs. She is always willing to carry a dog that might have arthritis from the daycare to their hotel room - even if they are 100 pound lab. Stacey has a black lab named Berrylium William and she and Ber are marathon runners!!!
Tom
Geri was born and raised in Denver. She has two siblings, a brother and a sister and as far as she can remember, she has always had dogs and cats and other animals. Her passion has always been dogs. She is a mother of two girls, Danielle and Mia and grandmother of Nyah Rae Purify. Her husband’s name is Dan. She is also a mother to a handsome, sexy German Pinsscher who is truly her best friend. Geri worked at another daycare for 6 years so she also has a lot of experience with dog handling.
Tom is my father and he helps out behind the scenes!! He makes sure that the treat jars are always full and that the bed supply is never low!! He also nourishes the staff with lunch on a regular basis!!! The staff thanks you!!
